Organisational Background

The World Food Programme Somalia activities include food assistance for relief, emergency school feeding, nutrition and food assistance for assets creation through provision of in-kind and cash-based transfers.
This position is open to qualified Somali candidates only. Female candidates are encouraged to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of Food Security Cluster Co-ordinator and overall supervision of the Area Coordinator in WFP Mogadishu Office, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
Minimum Qualifications
Education: | Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in Food Security, Agriculture, Statistics, Political Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Humanitarian Affairs or Communication. |
Experience: | At least five years of progressively responsible support experience including at least two years in the field of Food Security or Programme related field. |
Language: | Fluency in both written and spoken English and Somali is a requirement. |
Knowledge: | Experience utilizing computers, including word processing, Ms Excel, PowerPoint and GIS Software (ARCGIS, ARCVIEW, IDRIS). |
